Look Inside

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to take a little time out to become aware of who you truly are. We are all so busy managing our “stuff” and circumstances outside of our control that it makes it seemingly impossible to stop and remember what we really want in life—really knowing and remembering what makes us feel grateful to be alive.

Have you found yourself caught up in everything BUT yourself? Being so busy helping everyone else that you no longer know how to help yourself?

Get Out Of Their Dream

This quote is interesting because of the line “who looks outside dreams”. Now, I’m all for having dreams, but from my perspective, this quote is talking about the illusion or “game” of life. The “keeping up with appearances” and trying to life up to someone else’s expectations. Anytime you are out of alignment with what you want and need, you are no longer living a fully conscious life.

Waking Up

The definition of living a fully conscious life will be different for everyone. But I do think it begins with really understanding what your true needs are and then clearly identifying what you want, with a focus on how you want to feel every day.

Most people don’t even know how they want to feel and end up just reacting to things that happen to them throughout the day. Are you one of those people? Do you know what primary feeling you want to feel? Is it happy? Angry? Lonely? Grateful? Appreciative? You get to choose which direction your emotions flow.

Looking Within

“Who looks inside, awakes”. Looking inside and examining why you are the way you are is a true act of courage. Why? Because it can be very scary and courage is facing a fear and doing it anyway. What if you aren’t who you thought you really were? What if you aren’t who your parents or friends expect you to be? What if you’ve you’ve just been being who you thought you should be instead of who you really want to be? And what if you still don’t know who you really want to be?

Looking inside can be a scary place because of all the unknowns. The best way to fight the fear is to stop and look. Take a little time with yourself and look within. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart.
